What's to like? It eats CPU and bandwidth, it doesn't integrate with
anything, the protocol is completely closed, the linux support
drastically lags windows, etc, etc.

Its sole saving grace is that it's easy for windows people to get a VOIP
client. That is really a failing of the alternatives, not a feature of
skype.
