Ahem. I've set up Linux on two Proliant 1850R servers now, and will
be happy to trade hints'n'tips

Enragingly enough, we were looking for a pre-installed Linux
server the last time we bought a server.
As we already have several Compaq servers, and Linux running on
one 1850R we asked Compaq to supply us with a Linux box, as per
their Web pages. Only to be told that they don't supply them
in the UK and the web page  was 'a mistake'. 
So I had to get the CDs out and do it myself. Aaarggghhh.....
