[Gllug] How to access the internet

Don't be so nervous, I have a proxy server (netscape) connected to the =
internet already running on NT. All my clients (win95) connect to the =
internet via the gateway (which is the proxy server)
In my case its 10.xx.x.xxx. So no problems there. Now what I want to do is =
connect my fresh installation of Red Hat 6.2 to also browse the internet. =
The PC Linux answers magazine has a HOW TO CD , but unfortunately the HOW =
to on this is blank. I will try another site in the mean time and will =
update you when its done. Every time I try to connect is thinks I want to =
use a modem and during setup you have a chance to do setup a LAN connection=
. I declined ......what a mistake.

{My fingers shake as I type my first ever message to Linux group.}

I think the idea is to have a proxy-server sit on your lan connected to =
the
internet. That way everyone on LAN talks only to the proxy and only the
proxy talks to internet.

I would be most interested in following up this thread since I tried to
muddle thru this solution with Squid (came with the SUSE6.2 installation)
and have not been able to get it to run like I want to. Add to the fact =
that
I am 33 days old to the world of Linux and have never worked with Unix
before in my life!!

Kevin, be kind enough to tell me if I am completely off the mark here.

Can you tell me how I can use my LAN connection to access the internet. =
I'm
sure there must be a HOW TO out there somewhere, if someone could point me
in the right direction.

Thanks
